Thousands are dead… and many thousands more are fighting for their lives following the earthquake in Haiti. Citizens of the world are responding with donations to all kinds of organizations. Unfortunately, some are scams.
KDKD along with The Landmark Restaurant, Sherwood Community Bank, Hankins Grain, DC Discount, Country Club Care Center, Montrose Savings Bank, W.I.L.S. and Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce want to make sure that if you are wanting to give… please send your donations to the one organization we trust… the Red Cross. Through the International Response Fund at RedCross.org you can be confident your donation will get to the people that need it.
If you choose to donate to another organization, here are a couple of other options that KDKD and others in our community are aware of as well.
The First Baptist Church of Clinton has sent a group of volunteers to Haiti. Any donations are greatly appreciated. You can contact the church at 660-885-2211.
Also, please remember that you can also contact your local United Way.
